Delta Gamma

What makes DG "Home is where the heart is"

What makes Delta Gamma home is not just the love we share with each other, but also the heart we pour into our philanthropy, Service for Sight. The way you can grow to love and connect with our philanthropy is unlike any other. Members open their hearts and perspectives to the visually impaired community and the guide dogs that we work with and never fail to amaze me with what they are willing to do to not only fundraise, but actually connect with the people we are trying to help, human to human. On an even deeper level, I’ve seen Delta Gamma become home for women who felt like they never really had one before. Just when you think you’re done making all your Delta Gamma friends, you’re proven wrong. We are such a wonderful mix of personalities, backgrounds, passions and everything else. When you see all of us come together and witness how much we love each other — like real family, you see that home is where the heart is and all the other challenging parts of life and college start to seem not be so big and daunting. Delta Gamma is family — and our family is the heart of Delta Gamma and what makes it home.

Dear PNMs,
My name is Gabriela Malic and I’m the proud President of Delta Gamma. I can’t wait to meet you and see all your beautiful smiles this Fall! Upon arriving at ASU, I was an out of state college freshman who didn’t even think to register for recruitment. My roommate convinced me to just try it and I am forever indebted to her for that because Delta Gamma has changed my life. Before Delta Gamma, I never felt that I truly belonged to something — that I could be 100% myself and be accepted for that. As a first generation Greek, not only did I have no idea what I had signed up for, but I could have never anticipated creating the connections and relationships I have in DG. For once, I had felt like I truly belonged. The members of DG were intelligent, kind, compassionate, passionate, and made me feel like I was already a part of the sisterhood as they were just getting to know me. I hope for all of you that you find your place you finally truly belong this fall.

I am so grateful to all of you who will register to go through recruitment. You are the future of our organizations and Greek Life! This decision will change your life forever and in ways you can’t imagine now! I have met my bridesmaids and the women my kids will call “aunties” in DG and I don’t know how I ever knew a life without them. If there’s one thing I can say to convince you to register it’s that you truly haven’t met all the people that are going to love you yet. Change your life and find where you belong.

Go Greek and GOOD LUCK you’ll do great.
